WHAT HAPPENED?
The Portuguese superstar lost his temper in the closing stages of a Saudi Super Cup semi-final clash with Al-Hilal. After throwing an elbow at Ali Al-Bulaihi, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was dismissed with four minutes left on the clock.

The report posted by the match referee claims that Ronaldo used “excessive force” when striking an opponent, leading to him being sent off. The evergreen 39-year-old objected to that decision, and angrily argued his case, before eventually heading down the tunnel.

Al-Nassr lost their semi-final showdown with Al-Hilal 2-1. Their next two games, which will come in the Saudi Pro League, are against Al Feiha and Al-Khaleej. They will face the second of those two opponents in the semi-finals of the King Cup of Champions on May 1, with Ronaldo set to be available for another shot at moving closer to major silverware in 2024.
